The "2026 Jeonju Makgeolli Festival" (Jeonju Makgeolli Chukje), held in the cultural city of Jeonju, is a signature local festival that widely promotes Jeonju's unique makgeolli and food culture, where citizens and tourists come together to share the flavor and warmth of Jeonju. Along with tastings and sales of makgeolli produced in Jeonju, the Samcheon-dong Makgeolli Alley Merchants' Association and local restaurants take part, presenting a variety of side dishes that go well with makgeolli and Jeonju's distinctive foods. The festival also offers a range of cultural performances, including Gijeopnori, which conveys the charm of traditional culture, invited performances and a Retro DJ PARTY, and runs participatory events that anyone can join, such as a citizens' karaoke and a Makgeolli Challenge. Through a festival that brings together local breweries, restaurants and alley-market businesses, it aims to showcase the excellence of Jeonju makgeolli and bring vitality to the local economy. Under the slogan "Under the Autumn Moonlight, Get Drunk on Jeonju Makgeolli!", the flavor and style of Jeonju, lively performances and participatory programs come together to offer both citizens and tourists a special memory of an autumn night.
