How to buy concert tickets in Korea from abroad: global sites, verification and pick-up
Korean concert tickets trip people up at three points: which site sells them, whose name is on them, and what to bring on the day. Global sites, verified-member shows, 3-D Secure cards and ID checks, in order.

Tickets for concerts and musicals in Korea are not all sold in one place. Each show picks its own seller, and only some sellers run a site for foreigners. Most problems happen at three points: verifying your account before the sale, paying with a foreign card, and the ID check on the day.
1. Find out which site sells the show
The organiser chooses the seller. The four big ones are NOL (formerly Interpark), YES24, Melon and Ticketlink, and each has a site for foreign buyers:
- NOL World: world.nol.com
- YES24 Ticket (English): ticket.yes24.com/English
- Melon Ticket Global: tkglobal.melon.com
- Ticketlink Global: ticketlink.co.kr/global
The Korean versions of these sites ask for identity verification with a Korean mobile number, which a foreign number cannot pass, so visitors use the global sites. Not every show is sold on a global site, though: some are only on the Korean one. Check the show's own page to see where it is sold.
Our show pages link to the seller for each show and carry a short "booking from abroad" note.

2. Verified-member shows: verify well before you buy
Some popular shows can only be bought by members who have verified their identity.
- YES24's official FAQ says some concerts and musicals are "Verified Member Only", verified with a physical foreign passport and face recognition, and asks you to finish a day or two before the show goes on sale; it slows down at the last minute.
- A NOL World notice for one show said that from 11 July 2024 only verified accounts could book, verified with a passport. Conditions differ from show to show, so read the notice for the one you want.
Register under exactly the name in your passport. YES24 warns that if the account name differs from the passport, you may not be able to collect the ticket.
Fan club presales are a separate hurdle. Since June 2026, presales run by major agencies for their Korean fan clubs have been reported to require Korean phone or identity verification. Even if you miss the presale, the general sale may be open on a global site.
3. Turn on 3-D Secure for your card
This is where many purchases fail.
- YES24's global site requires 3-D Secure, and UnionPay is not accepted (official FAQ). PayPal works only when the show is more than 180 days away.
- Buyers on other sites often report foreign cards being refused at the card issuer's extra verification step. Set up 3-D Secure beforehand and keep a second card of a different brand ready.
- The time allowed for payment after you pick seats is short. Have your card and your bank's verification app at hand.
4. On the day: what to bring and when to arrive
How you collect the ticket and get in also varies. Check your booking email and the show's notice.
- Pick-up at the venue: YES24 says only the person who booked can collect, with their physical passport and the booking confirmation. Nobody can collect for you.
- Mobile tickets only: some shows have no paper tickets. One NOL World show checked every audience member's ID at the venue and then fitted a wristband for entry. Phone signal at big venues is often overloaded, so take a screenshot or open the ticket while you still have signal.
- ID-check queues get long. Plan to arrive one to two hours before the start.
5. Be wary of agents and resold tickets
In January 2026 Korea's National Assembly passed an amendment to the Performance Act toughening penalties for illegal resale and fraudulent purchases, according to news reports. Reports differ on when it takes effect and on the exact penalties, so we do not state them here. With more shows checking names and IDs, a ticket in someone else's name may not get you in.
